Etherial Twins
Etherial Twins

Oil on canvas 48×36.
This painting is about “mediumship”. The desolate rocky and sandy landscape looks like our waking world but there is no life present. The area is pleasant with blue skies and fluffy clouds. In the foreground the Shaman is cautiously approaching the dual horses, hands outstretched ready to harness their power. The left horse is aware of the presence and stops to approach the being. Although eyeless the spirits do not need eyes to guide.

Ephemeral
Ephemeral

Oil on canvas - 30×40.

In this painting I wanted to have a message about Life & Death. The violent crazy storm with lighting and thunder has ended and the clouds are drifting away, making room for the sun to come back out making everything better, the buzzards are circling the carcass in the distance while in the foreground the landscape is starting to bloom, rejuvenated by the fresh rain.

New Dawn - Perseverance
New Dawn - Perseverance

Oil on canvas - 30×40.
There is a lot of different elements and meaning with this painting. The figure “a man” is looking towards a sunrise, the path before him is open yet not well traveled, directly behind him is a cowboy hat which represents both the past and the literal direction of the old wild west. He is taking a step towards the rising sun, moving forward/away from his current position. To the North is a distant mountain range in a rather desolate landscape. Rising up and facing a new day is paired with ignoring the surrounding and keeping focus on the journey ahead.

Arizona Sunset
Arizona Sunset

Acrylic on canvas. 48×24.
“Arizona Sunset” was inspired by an amazing summer sunset in Holbrook AZ. The sun had just set over the open plains and a beautiful ban of colors were captured across the sky and land.

Back to the Primitive
Back to the Primitive

48×36, Oil on Canvas.
“Back to the Primitive” is based on Sun Reverence, Spiritual Enlightenment and an artistic attempt to represent energetic power. The design and concept comes from ancient cave paintings. Imagine being lead by firelight deep underground to others who have never been above ground and taking a charred wood piece from a previous fire and drawing on the wall the amazing sun. Warmth and life giving light high up in the sky which can be felt but not captured. The concept behind this being a representation of Spiritual Enlightenment is just how synonymous light and sun both bring the darkness into perspective.

Former Glory
Former Glory

30x40 Oil on canvas.
Inspired by the volcanic Monolith that is Shiprock, Former Glory explores the twofold meaning of a once powerful force of nature reduced to its stripped core. A million years later this pillar is still standing as a testament to the strength and resilience of the Native people who are also still standing despite all we have been through.
